hey, i’m new to the forums, so i apologize in advance if this topic is out of line with the rules or anything- wanted to say hey to everyone to start off with and i’m planning on making an attempt to stick around a while to get to know the area!

ok so here’s the question-
i have the motif6- got it in roughly 2004 and i’ve maxed out my SD card i’ve been saving to- in the menu screen you can choose to select a folder to load your songs- i believe you can also create a new folder- if i load a new folder that doesn’t contain my saved songs OR i create a new folder and save NEW material on that folder- will i lose my other songs i’ve saved to the other folder? i have like 60 songs (patterns) saved on there and am terrified i’ll lose them b/c i’ve accidentally deleted my songs numerous times in the past.  if you are reading this and thinking, “wtf is this kid on?” don’t worry- i feel ya!

You will only lose files if you overwrite a file by the same name
in the same folder/directory, just like on your computer.

When you might overwrite something, the Motif will ask you if you
really want that.

If you say YES while it should be NO, .........................

............... and it would be a good idea to backup your SMC
card on a computer, because ... you’ll never know.

- Could be that you make a mistake,
- Could be that the card goes corrupt (SMC is not that reliable).
