Does anybody have any other exotic concoction theyve devised to keep their board safe.

My board is a cat magnet.

MoGut, my cover is a holdover from my Motif classic. Picked it up at Guitar Center: I believe that’s where you got your ‘board. It’s made by Keywear. It couldn’t have cost very much…

If i asked my wife to make me a dust cover, it would reveal the fact that I worry about dust on my motif, and not anywhere else.

...know what I mean? :o

keyfax.com used to carry “Yamaha brand” stretchy covers that prohibited dust from getting into musical equipment. But, apparently they no longer carry them.

Here is one site for covers and if you Google aggressively
there are other companies as well. I got a custom one made for both my MOTIF_XS6 and 01X

I’m interested too :)

wow! a Tyros AND a MOTIF_XS

i will always be wishing for a 88-key balanced hammer Tyros, sure it will be $5,000 USD, so what, Tyros sounds are voondayybarr! Tyros_3 piano is amazing. I know their arranger keyboards really sell well in Europe, but heck, Korg went out on a limb with their $10,000 dollar 88-kay Karma.

‘cmon Yamaha, just for me!! make at least make ONE 88-key, balanced hammer Tyros_8 [yeah let’s call it Tyros_8] just for me!

IMPORTANT:
I cannot stress this enough. I am just about done building my project studio inside my small 27 foot motor home. I just got through installing 2 high quality Hunter-brand air filtration systems with Ozone. ANYBODY with computers and music gear needs to have air filtration systems to keep dust, dirt and crap out of your new gear. Also, the air quality you breathe will change 1000%
Yes go ahead and buy a dust cover, even placing a clean cotton towel over your keyboard “is better than nothing” however towels don’t stop dust/dirt from falling through to your equipment. so using CLEAN thick towels are important, if you do that.

But having serious HEPA filtration in your studio area will not only save your equipment’s life, but probably add years to your own mortality. Check out places like QVC.com and HSN.com where you can buy air filtration systems. I got THREE units on flex-pay of $44 USD a month (total $179)

How much is your equipment (and your lungs) worth??

;;cheers;;

I purchased the fine Gator GKC1648 88-Key Keyboard Cover
http://www.gatorcases.com/Default.aspx?Section=Products&Page=Details&CategoryID=4410&CatalogID=9609

Gator introduces one of two new Keyboard Covers, the GKC1648 for 88 note keyboards. This exciting new dust cover is constructed of incredibly stretchy lycra / spandex. An adjustable shock cord is designed to assure a snug, skin-like fit. Stretchy Gator Keyboard covers protect your keyboard from dust-related damage with amazing style.
It fit’s my XF 8 like a Body Glove for scuba diving.

Oh woops sorry, my bad!! I chose to copy and paste the verbage right off the Gator Website. Anyway, it’s new and exciting to me, and it looks awesome, stretched so tight over the body of my XF 8.
Shall I contact Gator.com on your behalf and request an overall website upgrade? Perhaps they need your input directly....

For this Motifator site, in my mind of high stature, to be here to help us all grow and learn, there seems to be several sticks in the mud who thrive on critisism and negative feed back.
Hey folks, I don’t know you, and I don’t want your poor attitude to rub off on me. Sooo, please keep your own back yards clean.
Worry less about what others do and continue to enjoy learning from the forum and all the good information and vast knowledge base of the moderators and wise users here in, has to offer.
If you have little nice or positive or at the very least half intelligent to share, then, I can give you a thousand websites that relish poor taste and negativity.
If you have nothing better to do, sit down in front of your Chimera Synthesis bC16 pictured below, and create some fine blues, sounds so we may All enjoy your talent.
I know you can do better, please strive to reach on high-upwards.
There’s already a good flow of crud in the gutter, keep your short pant cuffs clean.

Be kind, rewind!!

Chas
