Hi everyone, I’ve looked through the forum to see if this question has been asked/answered but can’t find anything on it. When editing a voice on the Motif XF, the Cutoff, Resonance and ADSR knobs are brilliant for sculpting a sound really quickly. When you store the voice, the parameters obviously get stored along with the voice so when you come back it sounds the same. However from practice and reading the manual, it seems that they just store as ‘offsets’ to the actual parameters in each voice, rather than changing the actual parameters themselves. This means that when I come up with a great sound in Voice Edit mode, and then go to Pattern mode to sequence it, it reads the actual parameters from the voice rather than the offsets that are stored with it - so the voice sounds different from the one I came up with. Not cool. So my questions: 1) Is there any way to update or save the ‘actual’ parameters in the voices based on what has been created with the knobs? 2) If the answer to number 1 is No, then.... is there a way to tell the Motif when you’re in Pattern mode that you want to use the sound with the offsets that have been created by the knobs and stored with the voice? Rather than just the ‘actual’ parameters in the voice itself? Hope this makes sense. Thanks all in advance! |

Welcome to the forum.
Â
You can turn “Parameter with Voice” on.
See:
Parameter with Voice should be turned on before selecting the Voice for a Part, or it won’t work. If you haven’t turned on Parameter with Voice first, temporarily choose another Voice, then reselect the Voice you want. |
