Hello guys!

I cannot connect my Motif XF8 with my DAW and I cannot find any helpful on the net: I try to connect my keyboard via USB to the Motif XF Editor VST in my DAW: Reaper 6.13. The plugin starts but it says:  “Ports in the host app have not been properly set”.
And I cannot choose anything for Midi In/Out at port 1 (USB).

The standalone app works fine.

Am I doing anything wrong or is it simply not possible to run the editor on reaper properly?

Thanks for any help!

To Yamaha,
I own a Motif Xf8 for years.
This thing is vsti3? it should be available in any vsti3 host? right?
Tell us why it works only in cubase?

To Yamaha,

If you want Yamaha to see your message, I suggest that you contact them directly. Motifator isn’t a Yamaha-owned/run site, and their representatives haven’t contributed to discussions here for several years.

OK.

No, on two accounts…
1) There’s no such thing as “vsti3”. Software can be VST3 compatible, and an instrument can operate as a VSTi.
2) It’s the Yamaha Motif XF Editor that supports VST3 when a proper driver is installed, not the XF itself.

Wrong…
- Again, it’s VST3, not “vsti3”.
- Support for VST3 in a DAW is dependent on the DAW properly implementing it.
- Since VST3 is a Steinberg thing, other DAW developers may have been reluctant to get on board.

If you’re really interested in VST3, a web search will turn up lots of information, including which DAWs are compatible.
