Hi everyone,

Currently I’ve connected my MOXF-6 with Cubase-Pro using a USB-2 cable and port. Because of the faster data transfer I’d like to connect my MOXF to a USB-3 port. When I do so, I get the infamous “Open Port Error”.

1: Do I need a special USB-3 cable in stead of my current one?
2: Do I have to change USB-settings in Cubase or my MOXF-setup to assign the right USB-port (whichever it may be)?

Thanks in advance for your reply,

Ed

Don’t bother - the MOXF data transfer speed is limited to that of USB 1.1. See page 61 of the MOXF Owner’s Manual.

By the way…
USB 1.1 - 12 Megabits per second
USB 2.0 - 480 Megabits per second
USB 3.0 - 5 Gigabits per second
USB 3.1 - 10 Gigabits per second

Hey 5pinDIN,

Thanks for your fast reply. Well, no need to search any further. Also thanks for displaying the several speeds, I had no idea they varied that much.

Kind regards and until next time

Yes, USB speeds have improved dramatically. When USB 1.0 was introduced, the Low-Speed specification was only 1.5 Mbps.
