Hello everyone!

I have a Neo Instruments Ventilator II pedal I want to use with my Motif XF8, and I do not understand how to switch off the internal XF8 Leslie effect and vibrato.

Having both the XF8’s internal effects with the Ventilator pedal engaged creates too much phase-shifting effect, and muddies the sound of the Ventilator by itself.

So, how do I turn the XF8’s effects?

While i’ll leave the directions as to how to turn off the internal Leslie to someone else, I’d be careful when using the neovent while playing anything but organ sounds.  I have a neovent and have found that, when playing strings, horns Rhodes etc., i’d have to turn the neovent “off” because the neovent leslie affected these sounds in a negative way.I use the neovent only with my B3 clone boards.

Yes, understood. My plans were to use it for organ sounds only, primairily Hammond B3-type sounds.

I just haven’t figured out what I need to do to switch the Motif’s FX on and off.

Disregarding Master Effects, there are primarily two types of effects available on the XF, Insertion and System. The System Effects are reverb and chorus. Rotary Speaker is an Insertion Effect.

The Effects can be controlled via the three EFFECT ON/OFF buttons to the left of the LCD screen. Voices can be edited and stored in User locations if you want to make permanent changes. Here’s detailed information about effects:

There is a lot of material to digest in achieving what I thought would be a rather simple task. (Doesn’t help that I am experiencing a vision problem right now).

I take it there is no “simple” method to do what I want to do, or am I mistaken (a common problem, BTW)?

No I have not, yet. I have to delay testing further, as I have to have eye surgery next week, and any eye strain is causing problems.
Thanks for your input, and I will check out your suggestions ASAP, and post a reply.
