I’m at the point of purchasing a Motif XF. It is compatible with content of the XS I read, so here’s my question.
I have the content of my Motif XS in an ‘all’ type file. It contains voices, voices with samples (‘best of’ all kind of motifator shop voice sets), a user arp file and patterns (containing midi files with drum and bass patterns).

Is it possible just to load the ‘all’ type file info the XF? And/ or is it possible to load say only the patterns from the ‘all’ type file info de patterns of the XF? Since I don’t own my XS anymore, I hope it is possible to use the content only haring an ‘all’ type file ..

Content for/from the XS will be fully compatible with the XF, and will LOAD in the same manner as you performed on the XS. Therefore, “it is possible to use the content only having an ‘all’ type file”.

Per page 243 of the Motif XF Reference Manual:

2 Set the Type to the desired one of “all,” “all
without system,” “all voice,” “all arpeggio,” “all
waveform,” “editor,” “all song,” and “all
pattern.”

NOTE Only available files according to the Type are listed in
the Directory/File list box on the display.
n When you select the data type including the Waveform
data, select the destination memory (USR, FL1, FL2) for
each memory block in the Load column at the right bottom
of the display. For details about the Waveform data
structure on loading, refer to page 248.
