Ok, so I had a stepped triangle wave as an lfo on my Korg Krome, and it was great for sound effects. So I look at the lfo’s in the moxf, I found there are user lfo’s available. You’re supposed to be able to create your own lfo from a template so
I tried to create something but it makes no sense at all and the result is pretty much useless random junk. Does anyone here have any good experience with this function? I can’t even make a simple step triangle? What’s the point? Imagine using a long multi-step lfo for pads, it would be pretty cool.

I don’t have a MOXF, but I do have a Motif XS and an XF. Creating a User Common LFO is easy on those models, in particular due to the graphical representation on the relatively large screen display. The MOXF is somewhat handicapped in that respect.

However, it’s even easier to work with a mouse on a computer screen, which is how it can be done if the Yamaha Editor is used. Fortunately for MOXF users, its Editor works the same way as the XS and XF ones. If you aren’t using the Yamaha Editor, I suggest you do so. Firmware and software for the MOXF can be downloaded here:

While you can start with a Template, there’s no requirement to do so. With “Slope” set to “off”, the waveform will be stepped. With a few mouse movements you can have the desired stepped triangle.
