I’m really confused!
in my current setup I want to use Cantabile3 just for changing Songs in my MOXF. On SongLoad the Mode should change from any other mode (Voice, Performance, Master, …) to Song Mode.
I got the following issues: 1. Having changed to or being in SongMode and using the same SysEx command again (e.g. by choosing the next song or the same song again), the MOXF changes to VoiceMode - why that?? 2. I know how to change the programm number by using the ProgramChange command, but how can I change the song number, being in the SongMode? I tried the Song Select command (e.g. with parameters like ‘F3;05’)but I get some weird and inconstant results. What the heck can I do to simply change the song number by MIDI- or SysEx-command? Hoping for your helpful advice Christoph |

Hi Christoph, maybe it’s an idea to extend the SysEx with a leading code like F0 43 1n 7F 0D 0A 00 01 0m F7 to force changing the mode even if the synth already has that mode? Of course you’d have to replace ‘n’ and ‘m’ with the correct parameter values accordingly .... Just a thought ....
Bets wishes,

Unfortunately…
Since it appears that CologneKeys is correctly using the mode change SysEx and Song Select messages, but getting strange results, it would seem that the messages are somehow getting corrupted. The F3 Song Select message should work consistently without problem. Difficulties might be due to a problem with how Cantabile is sending the messages. I suggest that a MIDI utility such as MIDI-OX (http://www.midiox.com/) be used to send the same messages to the MOXF, in order to determine if things work correctly without Cantabile. |

Hups? Thought I directly found this in the MoXF parameters descriptions....but maybe I’m wrong.
Edit: wasn’t wrong in my remembering, see the parameter manual page 72, [Mode Change].

No problem. It’s Yamaha’s fault, not yours - you were obviously trying to help. Of course, Motifator forums would be less populated if Yamaha documentation was more accurate, complete, and clearer (and my post count would be a lot lower). Â :-) |
