On the Korg Forum they open a threat to talk about the MODX and it now has 6 pages, as I understand this Forum does not support the Montange and MODX because it was meant solely for the Motif series, however I don’t see why it shouldn’t support newer models ?

I’m curious…
I understand that you’re selling your Motif XF, and your interest is now in the MODX. However, since there are several online forums covering the newer models (to a greater or lesser extent), why would you want a site dedicated to Motifs do that as well?

If your favorite restaurant served only French cuisine, would you ask them to include Italian food because your palate suddenly changed?  :-)

That’s just my two cents, which shouldn’t be taken to mean that I’d care if Keyfax decided to support the Montage/MODX.

I’ll put it this way, this forum was meant for the Motif and was or it still very successful, and that’s awesome, but as time goes by Motif users will be switching to other models and less and less people will want to talk about the Motif’s, to keep the forum current and successful why not upgrade and include other Yamaha Models ?

I’m pretty sure MrMotif was involved in the development of the Motif, so right away he was happy to support it, and that’s why he still supports it now.

Since the Motif sold one hell of a lot of units in over a decade and is still very popular in several of its versions, despite no longer being manufactured, it’s going to be around and discussed for quite some time to come.

The Motif used market is also thriving and it holds a good price through a lot of demand.

We are allowed to discuss the Montage series in the Mo Lounge and that isn’t much different to the link you posted on the Korg site.

So, it’s all good.

As ever, Phil and 5pin, you are both right on the money. A MODX thread in the lounge is a great idea but for a variety of reasons it’s not feasible to add new areas of the site for new instruments that go outside of Motif, even if they do have a healthy amount of Motif in their DNA!

Having waited for a rather long time for a new board, I have just launched into MODX territory and my first thought was to check out my old fave site to see if there was much info on it here.

I think the healthy amount of DNA is very suggestive that at the very least a sticky page or note might be added with a pointer to the new site where info can be had. I understand a lot can be found over at Yamahasynth.com for instance.
