Viewing topic "Recording arps with the sequencer - odd program changes inserted when using the SF buttons"

Hi

Me again with problems again :-)

I use the pattern sequencer a lot to record arps, making use of the SF buttons to change arps while recording.

It usually works fine. But ocassionally, I have this problem where it seems that the SF button presses, as well as changing the arps, insert weird program change messages into the recorded sequencer. And not just for the voice on the track I am recording, sometimes for other tracks/channels as well!

I’m sure it’s something I have setup incorrectly. Does anyone have any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? Do the SF buttons also, for some reason, transmit PC messages as well in some strange mode?

Thanks

David.

Can you provide the numbers of any specific Arps where that behavior is exhibited?

Perhaps you have the option VoiceWithARP - on (Voice with Arpeggio) (Arpeggio Edit - [F3] MAIN - VoiceWithARP).

Yes, that function can be helpful, but confusing at times.

See the MOXF Owner’s Manual…
Point 5 on page 44
Point 5 on page 47
Point 7 on page 48

Also see VoiceWithARP on page 83 of the MOXF Reference Manual.

Many thanks both. Yes, I had voice with arp on - I rarely use it, but had used it on this occasion and forgot to turn it off.

Another idiosyncrasy learnt. I wonder how many years I need to have my MOXF before I reach the point where there are no more surprises.

Thanks again.

David.
