I’m playing keyboards for my church using their S-90 ES.  I have a Motif XS8 in my studio here at home. I’m trying to figure out how I can load individual patches to the S-90 off a jump drive.  I have an S-90 voice bank in W7e format, as well as in the S90 format. I was able to load the W7e file voices to the user banks in my XS8 here at home to select a couple I thought would work on a couple of the songs we’re doing.  I had both the S-90 files on my jump drive and took it to church tonight thinking I could load in just that one patch.  But, the only thing I was able to do is load in the entire library from the file.

Is there a way I can load in just one or 2 selected voices from a patch library for the ES to a couple USR slots on the ES?

The reason is that I already have a custom library in the USR slots just for the church (with some empty spots).  But if I have to load in the entire library off my drive (which is a different one altogether), then I can’t use the one’s in the custom library for church.

What I WANT to be able to do is load in one or two selected patches to slots on the USR bank, and re-save all of that to the Church’s custom library.  I could do it, I guess, by bringing the S-90 home with me and plugging into my PC here and using the S90 Editor.  But, its a PITA to haul that heavy thing around and I don’t really have the time for that.

Is there some way I can just load a voice or two on a jump drive and import to the S-90 WITHOUT overriding the custom set already loaded in?

I hope I’m clear what I’m asking.

Thanks.

See page 52 of the S90 ES Owner’s Manual.

I suggest that you save a backup “All” file beforehand.

Everything is already saved in 3 different places.  I was doing what page 52 said.  I set to “Voice”, BUT, when I select the folder with the specific voice library I want to select my voice from, it won’t list the individual voices, only the library itself shows.  I can load ALL, but not individual voices and I can’t figure out why.

As indicated on page 52…
Set Type to “Voice”
Use the cursor keys to select the “All” file.
Press [ENTER] (Perhaps you’re missing the manual image, below)
Select the USER bank you want to load the Voice from.
Use the cursor keys to select the Voice.
Select a destination location in the S90 ES.
Press [SF1]EXEC.

Well, I thought this is what I actually did.  I had the ALL file selected, but no options for USER banks or individual voices appeared.  I did press enter too.  Something is odd.  I won’t see it again until tomorrow morning.  I’ll give it another go and see. Thanks for the reply.

Individual Voices won’t be displayed until [ENTER] is pressed after a file containing Voices is selected.

As the manual states, USER bank selection is made by pressing the appropriate button(s).

Operation is similar to that of your XS8.

If you follow the proper procedure, it should work.

Thanks for the reply.

You’re welcome.
