so i have some questions about the new mx

1. will they operate with other apps then yamahas, now when its class compliant again, with audio and midi?

2. will they work with laptop and ipad at the same time as soundcard?

3. will the old mx have the same ability with os update?

4.i like the blue color :)

I must say the lack of response has diminished my interest. I have put out this questions on a lot of places on the internet. I now get worried that yamaha does not care a bit, frankly. and what happens when ios10 gets out, a new yamaha mx again? the lack of support worries me more i must say. i probably dont have the guts to buy this new product. its on the street to buy now and still no manual. probably they just put the old manual on?

is there anyway to get direct contact with yamaha?

and ps, the last post before this i understand now, i think, as just a unlock for using cubasis le, and how nothing to do with other daw

well, anyway, the biggest problem i think is that apple update their ios so often and yamaha so seldom, probably an ios10 crash worries me

i can now answer myself that a new os for the old mx will not unlock it for class compliant, its new hardware in the new mx

and if anyone was interested i can tell that

1. u have to chose ipad or laptop, u cant chose both at the same time as iconnectivity

2. they say the old mx only worked with midi, did not now that, ant heard otherwise, so ...

3. it works with other apps on the ipad also, thats nice

I would try to be helpful if I could understand what you are talking about.  Can you be more detailed and ask your questions in a clearer form?  Regards

however if you have the new mx blue, there is one thing i wonder about:

the audio input on the old mx can not be routed to the laptop thru usb. I wonder if that has changed with the new mx? But sadly I don’t think there is any difference, i did not noticed any in the manual.

I have a new Yamaha MX49 BU and I can confirm that there has been no change to the operation of the AUX input in terms of sending the audio from this input to the USB port.  Only the internal sound engine output of the MX49 is sent to the USB port, not the AUX input audio.

One other difference between the original MX49 and the new MX49 BK/BU is that the LCD display on the new model has black characters on a white backlit background as opposed to the older model which had white characters on a blue backlit background.  Both displays are good, but I believe that the new display is a bit easier to read in bright light conditions (like outdoor sunlight).  For some, it may be just a personal preference.  I have to say that the buttons and labels on the new MX49 BU (blue model) are much easier to see and read than on the equivalent black version.  For those that perform in low light conditions, this is a big plus in my opinion.

I wonder if its easy too routing on an ipad also, so I could have a sequenser on the ipad running some channels on the mx, and still be able too play solo on the first channel from the mx sounds layerd with some ipad sounds like the model 15 synth, as an example.

I suppose I will find out anyway soon. I probably will order mine tomorrow (and komplete ultimate 11, he he)

so my first question a month ago was if it support ios10 and i got a yes and now when i was going to buy it they say its not support ios10. I am waiting for yamahas announcement :( , hope they update the mx soon

well all mx is recalled and the new working will be shipped in the middle of november in germany :(
well anyway now i know and i hope i dont lose interest until then

and i also wonder if they have to recall it when ios goes from 10 to 11 , i updated my ipad by mistake and its too easy to do that unfortunately cause ewery time you turn it on it says update update update grrrr
