Some Motifator members have noted that loading new User Arps overwrites previous ones. It can sometimes be convenient to combine two or more Arp files into one, so that all of the Arps are available simultaneously. Although commercial software is available to do that and more, the purchase might not always be merited. I’ve created a Windows program, Arps-Plus, that can combine two XS or XF Arp files, or one of each, into one Arp file. The Arps can also be extracted from “All” files. See the attached Readme file for installation and other details. Also attached are XSpand_Arps.X0G (Arps from XSpand Your World) and EDMEXP_Arps.X3G (Arps from EDM Expansion). They can be copied to the folder where Arps-Plus is located, and experimented with. Before using Arps-Plus, please save your current data to an “All” file. That way you can load files produced by Arps-Plus, but return to your own data if/when needed. I hope you find Arps-Plus useful. The program has been run on a few systems and seems to be working well, but I’d appreciate reports of any difficulties with it.

I found a very minor bug in version 1.00. It’s been corrected in the updated version 1.01 files. Please see my November 2018 post on page 3 of the thread linked above:

Thanks it’s a great tool! One more question concerning the number of user arps that fit into 1 file … When you combine the user arps of 3 voice sets, it’s too big for 1 file (just 256). From each user arp file I just need like 10-20 arp patterns … but how can I combine these selections? The Arp Manager (motifator shop) seems only to work with arp files of the motif ES not the XS … When a soundbank with user arps is loaded, is it possible to ‘delete’ user arps that you don’t need in the combinated user arp file? Kind regards, Michiel |

When I need just 3 or 4 user arps from a voice set, maybe I can ‘isolate’ the arps in pattern mode … ? (workaround but didn’t get my head around it yet …) |

I stored a performance in pattern mode and added the pattern (from a saved all patterns file) to my favorite setup.

You’re welcome.

Arps-Plus wasn’t designed to edit which Arps from a library will be merged - it combines all of them from the selected files. The limit of 256 is the maximum number of User Arp locations in the Motif. As I mentioned in my first post of this thread, there is commercial software that will do more. For your purposes, you might consider purchasing the Motif Waveform Editor from John Melas. It will allow you to rearrange Arps and delete unwanted ones. |

Thanks for the advise mr 5pinDIN, I’ll consider the commercial program. But since my problem concerns just a couple of arp patterns, I’ll try using the pattern mode in combination with the ‘put track to arp’ tool fist. My idea is:
I think this must work too (bit elaborate through...) ...? |
