Hi Muziksculp

I’m in the UK so cannot attend - I hope it goes well buddy - fingers crossed for you!

I already have the order in for my Montage 8 - looking so forward to it - that wonderful FM synthesis combined with even more enhanced AWM2! Amazing.

Kind regards
Steve

Hi stevomuzo2,

You might have a Montage Demo event in the U.K. in the near future. So, you might want to watch for any announcements by Yamaha, or their dealers in the U.K.

Yes, I am looking forward to attend the Montage event. I will also ask some key questions when I get an opportunity during the preview event.

i.e. I will ask the YAMAHA- Rep, if there will be other Synthesis Models added to the Montage in the future, (is this possible) ?  also, How soon will the software support side of the Montage for close DAW integration be released (DAW Control Surface, Montage Software Editor, Waveform editor, and possibly some other key questions.

I will also try to record some video clips via my iPhone if that is allowed, of the event. (Hopefully, they will have a pro-video person recording the event, so they can post it on Youtube, soon after the event).

Plus, There has been a lot of talk about the overall improved sonic quality of the Montage, when compared to the Motif line.  So, I’m hoping to hear this the instant I hear it played live.

Exciting times ahead !

Thanks,
Muziksculp

Why is this demo not posted? Yamaha still editing out the stuff we shouldn’t hear? I hope it’s drastically more in depth than before. Blake is good and all but I’ve seen his NAMM stuff a thousand times already.

Just got back form the Montage demo here in Dorset, UK.
Just a very simple review.....WOW!
As many commentators have already remarked, you simply cannot judge the sounds from the You Tube demos.
Obviously not a chance to show off everything, but this machine really does move all the goalposts, IMHO.
Had the chance to sit at the Montage 8 at the end, and run my fingers over the keys. Lovely feel to the keyboard - the BH action is so much nicer than GHS action in my opinion - especially for a synth. (Not saying the GHS is not a great piano keybed - I think it is.)
They had the 7 and 6 there as well, and the FSX keybed feels great too… but the 8?..magic!

The only thing I didn’t like on this first impression was the fast Leslie speed on the organ sim - way too fast.  ‘No problem’ says the Yamaha guy, and promptly presses a few clicks on the touch screen to adjust it to within 0.1 Hz of whatever speed I fancied. Very impressive.....

I’m already working out how to sell my P.105 and (maybe) my MOX. Then it’s a Montage for me. Definitely.

Very Cool !

Thanks for the feedback.

I’m getting a Montage 7 , which will replace my good old Motif XF7. Most likely will have it in June or July.

Cheers,
