Viewing topic "S70XS Transposition buttons state saved with utility save?"

I drove a mission-critical show opener straight into the ditch at a talent agency showcase last night by not realizing my S70XS had saved the state of the front panel transposition buttons during a utility save a couple days before. Generally speaking, I usually prefer to play in the same key as the rest of the band…

I would no more have expected the state of those buttons to be saved as a default than I would have expected the synth to save the position of the mod wheel or the master volume slider. Aren’t the tranposition buttons considered to be performance controls?

That really seems like an odd design decision. If I wanted to change the instrument’s default tuning (as I have in the past when working for groups who tuned 1/2 step down), I’d have done it under Utility->General.

Anyway, just something to be aware of in the future, I guess.
