Hi all, Looking into the MOXF reference manual in Normal Voice Edit -> Element Edit, we can select for a given element the trigger condition through the XAControl parameter (normal, legato, etc.). AF1 value is linked to the Assignable Function 1 button being ON. So far, so good. From Utility->Control Assign, we can change the assignable function Midi CC# value (AF1 = 86) as well as the foot switch behaviour (mine came to default to FS=ARP SW)… Would setting FS=86 enable equivalent of a foot controlled AF1? If not, is there a way to do this?
Thanks,

Yes, you can assign a foot switch to CC#86(AF1) or CC#87 (AF2), and it will function like an AF button. |

Fantastic, thanks 5pinDIN. If had a foot switch already, I would have tried instead of working on the theoretical level and ask a question. Now that I need to get one, any recommendations? |

This is a good, economical choice. Keep in mind this is a momentary switch and is only activated as long as you hold it down. This Roland switch should work. It is of the latching variety, and does not need to be held down. This guitar stomp switch is a bit cheaper. It latches also. It should work, but that would need to be verified with the vendor. Unfortunately, Yamaha does not offer a latching foot switch. |
