So I’m editing a track in a particular pattern section, and this pattern is for a song that I first sequenced several months ago. I’m using the voice “Alternative Rocker” in the distorted guitar subcategory, and I dig that it’s got this cool multitap reverb delay thing going (forgive me if that’s the wrong terminology, I still get a little lost talking about effects).

Anyway, I’m trying to find a suitable arpeggiation for this particular instrument for the hard rawkin’ song I’m working on, and I don’t know why, but for some reason, after I press REC and it takes me to the pattern record screen, when I press F2 for “Arpeggio” and it takes me to the screen with the arpeggio settings, when I go to the field at the top that says “switch” I am unable to switch it to “on.” It only says, “off.” I turn the wheel and use the INC/DEC buttons, but it will not switch on.

Is there some other screen where I need to select that this track is arpeggiatable? (I know that’s not a word but I couldn’t think of a better one to illustrate the principle I’m going for).

If you already have it switched on in 4 other tracks, you cannot switch it on in any others. On that arpeggio page, advance through the tracks and see where it’s turned on or not.  Of course, there might be other reasons…

Thanks, I appreciate the fast response.

I found another workaround, I just loaded up a new blank pattern and played the arpeggiation I wanted, then I copied the phrase into the original pattern.
