Is it possible to add single samples to the FL512 flashboard. I added the Chick Corea Mark V samples and they were 400 megabyte.I Don’t have enough memory available for complete CP1 series samples

The amount of data that fits on a FLASH BOARD is determined by the following parameters:

Size of the Data
Number of Waveforms
Number of Samples

The Size of Data is easy to understand - if you have a FL512M board you can fit a maximum of 512MB of data. If you have an FL1023M board you can fit a maximum of 1024MB of data.

The Number of Waveforms that can fit on either FLASH BOARD is 2048 Waveforms maximum. Whether the board is 512MB or 1024MB the maximum number of Waveforms is 2048 total per Board.

The Number of Samples that can fit on either FLASH BOARD is 8192 Samples maximum. Wheter the board is 512MB or 1024MB the maximum number of Samples is 8192 per Board.

Now it is a “whichever comes first” proposition. If you reach the maximum number of Samples before you reach the maximum number of WAVEFORMS or exceed the SIZE of the board you will be out of memory.

If you exceed the SIZE of the board before you reach 2048 WAVEFORMS you will be out of memory. If you exceed the SIXE of the board before you reach 8192 SAMPLES you will be out of memory. Whichever limit you reach first - will run you out of memory.

A WAVEFORM can have one sample, or as many as 128 samples in it.

Libraries like the CHICK COREA MARK V Rhodes library use a huge amount of memory to recreate the one meticulously sampled Rhodes.

When you load an individual VOICE (using LOAD TYPE = VOICE), you it will load just the samples it needs to play that VOICE.

Even if you load only one of Chick Corea’s sounds - they all use the same 400MB of data. So while the first Voice to minutes and minutes to install, the rest of the Library of individual Voices loads in seconds each.

Loading one of the CP1 pianos will take allow you to load just the WAVEFORMS and SAMPLES necessary to make that one VOICE play.

Use the LOAD TYPE = VOICE
Navigate to the CP1 ALL data file
Press [ENTER] to view a LIST of individual VOICES in that file
Select the piano you wish to load and target an internal location. If you still have room the MOXF will install the samples necessary to make the VOICE play.
