Sorry, but very little of the documentation concerning the Motif XF applies. Very little. The MOXF is much, much simpler to deal with… We will be posting a tutorial on the MOXF very shortly. The MOXF does not sample, does not have multiple places to direct data, so you simply select what you want to load… It only has one place to put the data, so the USR, FL1, FL2 rerouting shuffle is totally not applicable on the MOXF. And this greatly simplifies the whole process. The key concepts can be summed up this way: When loading Data that includes new Sampled audio, you decide what about that data needs to be loaded. There are basically two things that are associated with FLASH, Waveforms and Samples. The article will get you clear on what each does and when you need one and not the other. But quickly:
_ If you have previously loaded the data, there is no need to load the Waveforms and Samples again… The MOXF will “know” where the data is located.
The MOXF will never overwrite data in Flash, it simply adds the data to the lowest numbered empty location.
We refer to the process of loading Waveforms and Samples as “installing the data to Flash” - to differentiate it from just loading the Voice data. The article will explain this in detail. Voice data is directed to specific User Banks on board the internal MOXF, this is handled differently than the Waveform/Sample data which is the only data directed to the Flash board. The only tricky thing really is this: say you purchase or download a new Sample Library, because you may already have samples installed on your Flash Board, the new data occupies the first available empty locations… It does not overwrite your old samples, it simply adds the new ones to the end of the list, and automatically re points every single Voice!!! Automatically. This guarantees that your internal MOXF is now different from the data on the File you just loaded it from… Your MOXF is custom, and therefore, you need to make a new File, a backup that includes your old and your new samples. Ultimately, you will work your custom MOXF so that the 384 User Voice and 32 User Drum locations have Voices that reference your selected data on your Flash board. |
