In reference to importing MOTIF XF Performances to a MOXF, I was told on the XF Forum:

“If a Motif XF Performance uses a USER Voice location you must load the Voice data to the target location to make the Performance work”?

Hypothetically, let’s say I have 256 Performances I love on the XF and I hate all 256 MOXF Performances.

So I want to turn the MOXF into a “XF Clone” (Performances-wise).

What’s the best way to do so?

Let’s not say that.... :-)

Simply load the PERFORMANCES you want to the locations you want them. Don’t make a production out of it. It’s just that simple. When a Performance is loaded that points to a User location, you will be told this… In the form of a warning after the data has loaded.

You just recall that Performance and it will indicate which Voices you need to individually load and where they should be loaded.

Say you load single Performance that loads and points to the following four Voice locations:

PDR: 010(A10) Hip Hop Kit 1
USR 1:043(C11) xxxxxxxx
USR 1:001(A01) yyyyyyyy
PRE 6:009(A09) Brass Motion Pad

You can be assured that the PDR (Preset Drum) Kit and the “Brass Motion Pad” Voice are correct, but whatever occupies USER 1:043(C11) and USER 1:001(A01) are now apart of this Performance… They have been drafted into it due to their positions.

You must verify they are correct, here’s how
Press [FILE]
Set the TYPE = voice
Highlight the same ALL data file that you loaded the Performance from
Press [ENTER] to view the listings of Voices within this file
Press [USER 1] to view the list of Voices in User 1 of the file
Verify that the Voices at location are the same as the ones currently appearing, if they are different load the Voice from User 1:043 to the current User 1:043, and the Voice from User 1:001 on the list to the current User 1:001.

Or load the USR1 2 3 on the MOXF with MOTIF XF USR 1 2 3.. Problem solv.ed

actually djnoah it would be load the XF banks 234, to the MOXf’s banks 123.

The XF user voice bank 1 is already on the MOXF as preset 9 voice bank ;-) so some patch re-direction is still necessary.

Ergo, any performances from the XF that use XF user voice bank one, would need to have those re-directed to the MOXf Pre 9 voice bank.
