I’m taking time out from my motif xs to get more familiar with the MX61.  Setting up new performances is fun and simple but I haven’t found a way to disable the rhythm button.  Not that it’s difficult to run off with performances that trigger it, but honestly I’m using the board for live gigs and I’d rather not have it capable of coming on at all on the event of human error and I push a wrong key and some electronica beat roars out during Wonderful Tonite”

For any PERFORMANCE, you can turn AutoKeyOnStart = Off by…

Press [RHYTHM PATTERN]
Press the DOWN CURSOR until you reach the AutoKeyOnStart parameter
Set this to OFF
Press [STORE]

This will prevent the drums from staring when you touch a Key, this is a programmable function per Performance.

Alternatively you can set the MIDI SYNC parameter to “MIDI SYNC = External”
