I am looking at perhaps purchasing a MX49 for a portable music keyboard or a light alternative to my hernia-inducing Korg Kronos 88.  I was wondering if the MX49 can be hooked up to the iPad as to record the Yamaha voices over to GarageBand in someway, versus just sending MIDI commands.  I know the XF can’t do audio over USB, is this something that was rectified with the MX?

No, you can’t record any audio to iPad unless external hardware such as iRig, Alesis IO dock…

Ahhh, alright.  The IO dock doesn’t seem like an expensive solution, and it has a lot of upsides.  Thanks!  :)
