Cold Chisel get the bird
http://www.coldchisel.com/

AdNews revealed that Campari Australia is to announce that its Wild Turkey Bourbon brand will be official partner for Cold Chisel’s Light Up the Nitro tour begins in October. There’ll be a number of collaborations between the two, the first being Jimmy Barnes appearing on a TV ad for the drink.

This must have been a fun partnership and tour.

I have to give thanks personally to Australia, for giving me some of my very favourite music and television programs.

I hope to visit the wonderfull “Land Down Under” one day soon.
I have a friend in New Zealand, I’d love to surprise her also.

Chas

Wow, these guys are still around? I remember seeing their LPs in US stores about 30 years ago.

Hi meatballfulton,
Yeah, around and they are still sounding great too.
Some of their earlier albums are available on cd’s today.
A plus here, as you often get two cds in one pack, or a few added songs that were not on the original recordings.

Ofcourse the liner notes and any associated art work, album covers, are shrunk way down too.
Another reason vinyl is still king.

Jimmy Barnes is an awesome singer.
Check them out if you get the chance, you shan’t be dissappointed.

Hi nation1,
Welcome to Motifator Forum.

For anyone not familiar:
If you want to learn about ‘Cold Chisel’ and hear how great they truly are, look for the “East” cd or album, I have both formats…
Their songs can be found on youtube. But don’t sound nearly as great, as they are, on the disc versions.

My fav’ songs are:
“Standing On The Outside”
“Rising Sun”
“My Baby”
“Ita” is likely the best tune of all.
“Star Hotel”
“My Turn To Cry”

Ah Heck, I love the whole recording.
On cd you get three extra songs, “The Party’s Over” really is awesome too.

It’s hard to beat “Forever Now”. Early Eighties Australiana at it’s finest, and the soundtrack to my later high school years. Superbly produced, and the clip is elegantly done on a shoestring budget -

I saw Ian Moss (the guitarist) live at least three times, and he still rates as one of the finest live performers I’ve seen. Sings and plays like a dream and makes it look easy.
