Since one of the new Motif’s biggest selling points is its flash RAM options, the XF rack would be a great opportunity for Yamaha to add user sample playback to the Motif racks. Could even be like Roland or Korg racks in years past, where there was even greater expansion capacity than the keyboard versions. 4Gb flash, anyone? |

Yes. Hopefully, this has been the plan all along. |

Yup. I am very certain Yamaha has this plan. Otherwise, it would make it silly to release the “XF” in a rack version and have it lack the Flash capability. Another possibility is, they don’t release one… But I’m going with both of you that this will happen and it will be amazing =) |

The band I’m in has one song that starts and ends with clacking train wheels SFX. I use a small MP3 player jacked into my keyboard mixer to make that happen. I’d happily upgrade to a Motif Rack XF from my XS if it meant I could transfer the samples to it and trigger them via MIDI. (Not to mention all the other things I could do with user sampling in a Motif Rack!) I’m not holding my breath, but I’d love to see it happen. Rick |

I think they wouldn’t do it....in the past there in no sampling capability at all on Rack version.....probably cause marketing concept reason :( |
