I have several sequences that I want to load into the MO8 for live performance but I can’t seem to find in the manual how to do this this. I don’t have any problem loading one song at time but I’d like to load at least a set’s worth of songs in one operation.

In addition, is there any way I can trigger each song from a foot controller? I’d like to trigger each one sequentially one after another, without having to manually select each song.

TIA,

Since you know how to load individual songs into the MO, you simply load all of the songs desired into the MO and then save either an ALL SONG or ALL file and then you can reload just those songs from that file in one operation.

One of the limitations of the MO vs. the Motif ES is that it has a single foot switch input while the Motif ES has two - one dedicated to sustain and the other that can be assigned to a variety of tasks; such as incrementing through your song set.

If you don’t require a sustain pedal for any of the songs you wish to play, you can set the foot switch input of the MO to Increment (or Decrement) through the programs (whether they be voices, performances, songs, patterns or masters) in the [UTILITY]-->[F4] CTL ASN (Controller Assign) dialog as described on pages 208-209 of the MO6/MO8 Owner’s Manual.

Another alternative is that you can simply use the [INC} button on the MO to advance to the next song.

Finally, you could setup a song chain with your songs and STOP commands between each song in the song chain list. When you start playing the song chain, the MO will play through the 1st song and stop. Pressing the Play button will then start and play the 2nd song, etc. (Don’t forget to put an END] after your final song in the song chain.)

Thanks for the great feedback, Brad. I will follow your instruction. One thing, however, everytime I load a song, it loads it as Song One. How do I load songs into the Song Two, Song Three, etc. positions? Every load operation overwrites the Song One position!

Thanks again for your insights.
