Hi - Would anybody here be able to help me work through something pleae?

I’m using Output #2 of the FC-9 ( FC 9 Foot Pedal Manual ) to control the volume out of my Motif - the Left and Right outs from the Motif then go to the FOH. The FC-9 is plugged into the “Foot Controller 1” jack in the back. To do this, as is written in the manual, I have the FC-9 toggled to “CV”.

I was wondering ... somewhere inside the Motif have I assigned “Foot Controller 1” to volume output of the Motif? If I wanted to, would I be able to assign it to something else, for example, modulation frequency, etc?

Also, I was wondering about using the FC-9 as a pure volume pedal - Motif Left to input 1 on the pedal, through to output1 and on to the FOH; similarly Motif Right to input 2 on the pedal, throught to output 2, and on to the FOH. The FC-9 would have to be toggled to “Normal” of course.

Is there any advantage to doing things this 2nd way (using the FC-9 as a volume pedal, rather than as a controller of the Motif’s inner workings)? It seems more complicated to do it that way, needing four cables plugged into the pedal (Left In/Out; Right In/Out), rather than just 1 (CV Out), but maybe it’s better for some reason?

Thanks for your thoughts!
