I own a MOTIF, MO8 AND A MOTIF XS
HOW DO I CONVERT ORIGINAL MOTIF SEQUENCES TO MO8 AND/OR MOTIF XS SEQUENCES.

The universal translation protocol is called the Standard MIDI File - which creates a file with the extension .MID

This file type can be loaded by almost any MIDI sequencer. What it does is save the data that is recorded to the Tracks. It does not save your MIXING setup… so you will have to select new Voices in the device loading the file.

So what is recommended is to make Track Sheet. Basically a piece of paper that outlines what instruments are each track.

You can SAVE your data in the Motif using the FILE TYPE = SMF
This will create the file that can be loaded by the MO and by the Motif XS.
