hi yall;)
Im working on a song in pattern mode. I have recorded 12 bars in a pattern part (like A, B, C, D aso.) i want to split this pattern part into 4 and 8, so i get the first 4 bars in one pattern part and then the 8 left in another pattern part. is there anyway of doing this without deleting anything? Also, ive come to notice that when i make certain changes, example i want to clear a pattern part, it erases the instrument as well as the part. the other parts are fine, but i need to re-choose the instrument. bug, am i doin anything wrong or is it supposed to be like this??

LOVE my XS btw!!

Ruben

Yes, you can do this.  Press Job while in Pattern Mode.

Select job 3 , Split Pattern.

-------------------------------------------------------------
This Job splits a selected Pattern (1) into two separate
Patterns (1 and 2). The Pattern 1 is divided at the Split
Point (3). Actually, the Phrases making up the source
Pattern (1) will be divided and the divided Phrases after
the Split Point will be assigned to the tracks of the
destination Pattern.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Details are on Page 228 of the manual.

As for clearing tracks without clearing the Mix , you can do this.

You probably used the Clear Pattern job and yes this will clear everything.  Instead use F5 Track , Job 4 Clear Track.

Here you can select All as the track and it will clear All tracks at once , but you can also select which type of data gets cleared. Just check only Sequencer Events and all the tracks will be erased, bu the Mix Data like Voice assignments will stay the same.

------------------------------------------------------

This Job deletes all data of the selected type from the
selected track.
1 Tracks
Determines the track to be cleared by specifying the
Section (A – P, all) and Track (01 – 16, all).
2 Data type to be cleared
Determines the type(s) of data to be cleared. Select the
desired type by checkmarking the appropriate box.
Settings: Sequencer Event (all events in the track), Play Effect, Mix
Part Parameter (all Mixing Part parameters), Sample Voice
-----------------------------------------------------------
More details on page 226 of the manual.
