I’ve just acquired a Motif-Rack tone generator and I am trying to load files that I’ve previously saved from my Motif classic which died.

I have a USB to Smart Media adapter that I’ve plugged to the USB port behind the rack and im ready to load the files. The only loading option I got, which was suggested by the manual at page 55, is a “Plug-In Load”, which doesn’t seems to work.

Any advices guys?

Thanks in advance!

You previously indicated…

...that you were going to get a Motif 6 (keyboard) model. Unfortunately, the Rack unit is not compatible with W3P (All Pattern) files, since it has no sequencer.

In addition, the Rack’s USB connection is designed to interface with a computer. Compatible file types can be loaded via Yamaha’s Motif-Rack Editor, which will also require installation on your computer of the proper USB-MIDI Driver and Studio Manager version 2.2.0 or later.

Indeed, I will get my hands on the Motif 6 as soon as Quarantine is up :) But thanks for the info, I didn’t have to spend money on the Motif-Rack yet, but im happy you confirmed that it won’t load the W3p w2p files since the info wasn’t quite clear in the manual.

Hopefully, this will be helpful to other users too.

Thanks again 5pinDIN!
