Hello

I own a MOXF6 and I am trying to get to grips with user arpeggios.  I have found that the manual does not go into enough detail about creating user arpeggios.

What I would like to know for the time being is this:

Is it possible to give each of the four permitted arpeggios a different voice.  So for example, a bass voice for arpeggio 1, a piano voice for arpeggio 2, a strings voice for arpeggio 3 and a brass voice for arpeggio 4?  If it is possible, how do I go about it?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum.

Arpeggios don’t have assigned Voices, but Voices can have arpeggios assigned to them. So if you’re asking whether by selecting an arpeggio the Voice being played will change, the answer is “no”.

However, if you would describe in a bit of detail what it is you want to do, there may be a way to accomplish it. Let us know.

Thanks for the quick response 5pinDin.

I will try to describe what I am attempting to do.  I am primarily referring to page 125 of the MOXF Reference Manual under ‘creating an arpeggio’.

1:  I create an arpeggio pattern on track 1 of a song.
2:  I create a second arpeggio pattern on track 2 of the same song.
3:  I create a third arpeggio pattern on track 3 of the same song.
4:  I create a fourth arpeggio pattern on track 4 of the same song.
5:  I go into [song][job][F5 track][07 put track to arp].
6:  I follow the instructions at the bottom of page 125 for converting the arpeggios, four times for tracks 1, 2, 3, 4.  Track 1 would be on arp track 1, track 2 would be on arp track 2, track 3 on arp track 3 and track 4 on arp track 4.  I would press [enter] between each one of these to execute the command.
7:  Now, this is the part I am struggling with.  I want arp track 1 to be a voice, arp track 2 to be another voice, arp track 3 to be another voice and arp track 4 to be yet another voice.  Is this even possible as I can only get the 4 arp tracks to play the same voice.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the quick response 5pinDin.

You’re welcome.

If I understand correctly, you’ve succeeded in creating four different Arps, each assigned to a Part on Tracks 1~4, but the Voice for each Part is the same one. If you started with an initialized Song, that Voice would be the default piano.

7:  Now, this is the part I am struggling with.  I want arp track 1 to be a voice, arp track 2 to be another voice, arp track 3 to be another voice and arp track 4 to be yet another voice.  Is this even possible as I can only get the 4 arp tracks to play the same voice.

Each Part can be assigned whichever Voice you want. From Mixing mode…
See Part Edit on page 117 of the MOXF Reference Manual.
Press [EDIT] > [1]~[16](Part number)
Press [F1]VOICE.
Select the Bank and Number of the Voice you want for the Part.
Repeat for each Part.

Note that typically “Parameter with Voice” should be turned on before selection in order to retain certain characteristics of the Voice. However, if that’s done the Arp settings from the Voice will be selected, in which case you should reset for your User Arp.

I hope that helps.
