Hi I am sure this has been asked before. But I’ve just read a post on FB that said OS on the xs has been updated, and it can now accept 2GB of ram I am almost max out on the 1GB I am using now. Is this true??  Thank you

An XS can address up to 2GB of SDRAM (DIMMs).

I’m unaware of an OS requirement. However, why not update the OS to the most recently available one (version 1.60) if your XS doesn’t already have it installed? It offers significant improvements/features over earlier versions.

There may be other considerations though…
1) Compatible 1GB DIMMs may not be easy to find or inexpensive.
2) Load time increases with total sample size - if a file would fill 2GB, it will take twice as long to load as one half that size.
3) Certain capacity limitations aren’t increased even with the larger memory.
