Yamaha 24x7: PARTS & MANUALS

In order to use the Yamaha 24x7 parts order website, you will need to know the Yamaha part number(s) you would like to order. If you do not know your part number(s), please contact us for assistance, Monday through Friday, from 7:30AM - 5:00PM Pacific Time (closed 12PM - 1PM).

According to the Service Manual, the Yamaha part number is WH000000, which is a KCG057QV1DB-G88. That’s a Kyocera 5.7” QVGA (Quarter VGA = 320x240) display.

CRYSTAL DISPLAY KCG057QV1DB-G070 MOTIF XF

Just found this old thread while Googling for information about parts.

Very interesting to see that apparently, by Yamaha’s own suggestion, the XF display is suitable for installation in an XS.

I wonder how many parts are cross-compatible in this way. This would be valuable information for XS and XF owners going forward.

Offhand I don’t know what percentage of XS and XF parts are directly interchangeable. Differences can be subtle, and may or may not be a concern for a particular user. For example, display specs vary depending on the G## suffix of the Kyocera part number (as above, G88 versus G70). Here’s a multi-page thread where the OP used a G77 version of the display:
http://www.motifator.com/index.php/forum/viewthread/452509/

An important consideration can be related to the power supply. The XS and XF have different supply voltages, and of course the differences relate to the p.c. boards being powered. See: http://www.motifator.com/index.php/forum/viewthread/464486/

In addition, certain parts are sufficiently generic that they can be purchased from distributors of electronic components, rather than from Yamaha. An example of that is the Alps tact switches used at the pushbuttons.

In my opinion, anyone who has sufficient electronics knowledge to safely service a Motif could try to determine OEM part numbers from the appropriate Yamaha service manual, and investigate what sources there might be for the part(s). Then prices and availability from Yamaha could be compared with those from alternative suppliers, and purchasing decisions made.
