Just for a better understanding
I connected an MOXF8 as a Master with an MOXF6 via MIDI Cables (IN/OUT).
The MOXF6 (in Song Mode) should only! send Keyboard signals via MIDI Channel 2 - nothing more. Unfortunately the MOXF6 sends song changes etc..why that?

Settings:

MOXF 8: MIDI-IN/OUTl MIDI
Basic Receive Channel 1
Keyboard Transmit Ch off
Device No 1
Bank Select off
Program Change off
Local Control on
Rcv Bulk protect

MOXF 6: MIDI-IN/OUTl MIDI
Basic Receive Channel off
Keyboard Transmit Ch 2
Device No 2
Bank Select off
Program Change off
Local Control off
Rcv Bulk protect

Using the MOXF6 in VoiceMode, everything is ok.

What is the difference of controlling another MOXF being ion Song-Mode versus Voice-Mode?

Basically, certain settings made in Utility mode affect operation only in Voice/Performance modes. In Song/Pattern (multi-timbral/multi-channel) modes, other settings may be required.

Examples…
See [F2] SEQ(Sequencer) > [SF2] FILTER(MIDI Filter) information on page 144 of the MOXF Reference Manual

See the NOTE for Basic Receive Channel and the one for Keyboard Transmit Channel on pages 147-148 of the Reference Manual.
