Hi There,

Keyfax NewMedia, the company that created and runs this site, turned 25 this month.

If you are on the Motifator mailing list you’ll probably have seen a mailer and Part 1 of a 4-part blog about how Keyfax got started and, in time, how it developed.

If not, here’s a link. With each blog there’ll be quite a nice contest too. Part 1’s prize is $1000 worth of Alan Parsons / ASSR Session Files.

Enjoy!

MM

Congrats on Keyfax’s 25th anniversary, MM. I enjoyed reading Part 1 of the blog, and looking forward to Parts 2/3/4.

I thought some of you might enjoy a bit of Motifator/Keyfax history, circa 2007:

Many of the links within that page also work.

Although not 25 years old, here’s some early Motifator blogging by MrMotif:

When I was a touring musician there was nothing quite like returning to London from a gig in the midlands at 2AM on a rainy Saturday with nothing but the Watford Gap (a ‘service station’) and its fare of greasy whatever to look forward to before you crept back into a freezing flat ("apartment") with only the girlfriend’s toes for warmth.

I live 5 miles from Watford Gap, and the cuisine is still greasy.

My mom was a waitress there in the 60s back when it was the hip place for many famous people to use.

The restaurant opened in September 1960, but due to the site’s reputation as a truck stop, was redesigned in 1964 to accommodate a waitress service. The services became a meeting place for rock bands in the 1960s, including the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix, as it provided a convenient place to sit down and eat a meal in the early hours of the morning

Thanks to the many people who responded to the Keyfax 25th Anniversary contest last month.

Those who answered correctly will be given a free download of any of our downloadable videos here on the site and will be notified directly by email this week.

If you didn’t enter in time we have one more contest coming out shortly with some lovely prizes so keep an eye out for that.

As ever, thanks to all Mo’Bros and Mo’Sis’s who make this site what it was, is, and hopefully will continue to be for a while to come.
