Does anybody know of a cheap good quality USB-Midi interface to use with my MAC Book Pro for live situations in which I can send audio to the PA system and in separate output a click to the drummer for him to play along sequences ? |

If you mean an Audio Interface with MIDI functionality, then a great inexpensive interface would be a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4. (2nd Gen) https://focusrite.com/usb-audio-interface/scarlett/scarlett-2i4 It seems to meet your needs:: USB to your computer. MIDI IN and Out. Alongside its main outputs, has 4 mono or 2 stereo line outputs for separate cue mixes. |

Thanks for the info, if I also want to use MIDI do you think the BEHRINGER U-PHORIA UMC404HD could be a good option ? |

I’m sure it would be fine, but it may be way more than you need in terms of features. It has way more features than the Focusrite but somehow costs less. I would take a Focusrite product over Behringer from personal experience. They’re better built, have better preamps and generally sound better. There is nothing wrong with Behringer products at all, though. |

How about the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 (2nd Gen) USB Audio Interface with Pro Tools ? Even though I don’t use Pro-tools, but it has MIDI. |

Pro Tools would be fine. As would any other major DAW. I generally do my MIDI recording and editing in Logic and then use Pro Tools to mix audio. I find the midi side of Pro Tools a bit annoying. It’s fine, but it is a much more recent bolt on to Pro Tools. I’m not a fan of the midi user interface and find it quite difficult to look at. Logic and Cubase have the pedigree for MIDI functionality and editing. |
