Hi BSR,

Sorry, I don’t use the forums as much as I used to, but it was good timing that I came across your post.

The most recent firmware seems to be 1.60. Below I have copied the instructions from Yamaha’s site for checking your Motif’s OS version.

1. Push [UTILITY] to enter the Utility mode.
2. Push [UTILITY], [Cursor Up] and [F1] buttons simultaneously.
The following message will appear:

About MOTIF XS
Current Version
MOTIF XS Firmware Version *.**.*
MOTIF XS Kernel Version ************
MOTIF XS Contents Version ****
-------------------------------------
The unit’s version is indicated by “ MOTIF XS Firmware Version *.**.* “
Only the numbers up to the two decimal places after the first dot are important in reading the version number, you can ignore the numbers after the second dot.
Ex.) 1.04.1=1.04, 1.05.6=1.05
Press the [EXIT] button to exit version information.

The latest OS version and the instructions above can be found on Yamaha’s website, here: https://usa.yamaha.com/support/updates/21001_en.html. Other downloads etc are also available on the main page.
