Greetings

I’m trying to recreate the wind sound from Edgar Winter’s Free Ride on my Motif 6 and don’t even know where to start. Anyone have any experience creating this sound?

Thanks

Emulating the sound of wind is typically done by using a white noise waveform as the source, setting resonance to the desired level, then sweeping the cutoff.

Noise on the Classic Motif is Waveform #496. I don’t know if the sample is adequate for your purpose.

This may help with programming the sound:

You’re welcome.

See Element Edit on page 137 of the Motif Owner’s Manual (http://download.yamaha.com/file/3389),
[F1]-[SF1] Normal Element Oscillator Wave. Set WaveNo. to 0496

You’ll probably want to Initialize a Voice first. See Voice Job mode,
[F1] Initialize on page 158.
