I’m trying to restore my XS6 to the way it was new. I did the factory reset but some voices sound ‘distant’. Some have that same ‘distant’ volume like they are far away and the voices that give the issue sounds the same. Is there a file of ALL the voices, performances,etc that return the machine back to it’s original state?

Welcome to the forum.

Doing a factory reset restores all the User Voices, Performances, Masters, Songs, Patterns, and global settings to their original states.

The Preset Voices are unaffected under any circumstance, since they can’t be edited. The User Voices after a factory reset are all copies of various Preset Voices. The Performances use Preset Voices.

This is an “all” file from my own factory-reset XS6…

...but when loaded it shouldn’t result in anything different than resetting your own XS.

Which OS (firmware) version is installed on your XS?
Here’s how to determine that…
Press [UTILITY] to enter the Utility mode.
Press and hold down [UTILITY], [^](Cursor Up), and [F1] buttons at the same time.
Read MOTIF XS Firmware Version *.**.*

Please provide some examples of Voices you find sound “distant”.

For anyone wondering how this can occur…
If the ground/common connection for the headphones doesn’t make contact, what is heard from both sides of the headphones is the signal difference between the two channels. The result is cancellation of much of the in-phase sound (especially when the amplitude is identical in both channels), leaving ambient and other out-of-phase information (reverb, etc.) more evident.
