After looking around the net it seems that Steinberg and/or Yamaha have dropped support for Studio Manager in Cubase 8 and on.

I’m trying to open an old Cubase 7.5 project that used multiple patches from the MO6.  I have the multipart editor setup with
MIDI IN REMOTE Port = not assigned
MIDI OUT REMOTE Port = not assigned
MIDI IN Port = Yamaha MO6-1
MIDI OUT Port = Yamaha MO6-1

Using Yamaha USB midi drive V3.1.3
and the latest Firmware on the MO6 itself.

When the project loads, the recall synchronization window looks like everything loads fine, but nothing is happening. The MO6 does not update.

I try to transmit multibulk manually and the transfer screen looks like it’s doing something but no change occurs to the MO6 itself.

Using the standalone Studio Manager gives the same result.

So I tried doing the recall “From Hardware” instead of “To Hardware” and get a “Receiving Timed Out!” message for both the Multipart and Voice editors. Which makes me think something may be set wrong on the MO6.

Anybody have an idea on what could be the issue?

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!! I have a lot of old projects that use the multipart editor extensively, and it would be a lot of work to go through them all and set everything manually on the MO6.

I just found out what my problem was.

It had been such a long time since I used the Studio Manager MO6 combo that I paid no attention to what mode the MO6 was in.

It was in Voice mode.  Switched it to Song mode and everything is golden.
