hi there

The sequencer device in MOXF6/MOXF8 can record Performance plus Melody as midi data, through manipulations of the MIXING Operation parameters (assuming the whole exercise does not exceed 16 tracks or channels of the MIxing parameters allowed). The problem is how to export the recorded midi data to MOXF VST Editor within Cubase, where you could further refined each track or add more instrument tracks. Exporting as SMF file is not a solution.

Await all responses.

You have asked this question in a few different ways. The answer is still that there is no direct export option.

The workaround is to work within Cubase exclusively if SMF import is not useful for you.

The SMF method is how transferring sequences from one sequencer to another has always worked, whether it’s a hardware sequencer or a software sequencer. It’s the Motif XF that is the oddball allowing song (but not pattern) files to be directly loaded into Cubase.

Onwe word of advice that I was given by someone many, many years ago: do not wonder why the tools will not do what you want them to, find out how they work and use them that way.

Good luck.

hi meatballfulton.

thanks for the response.

You are right Yamaha is the odd meathead that differs from others.

Cubase is another odd ball.
