That almost hurt my feelings Dave. I worked really hard on this upgrade project only to be shot down. Had Yamaha incorporated these on Montage, then it would have been considered pure genius. Yet, they recycled a bunch of out-dated rubber knobs from a 1999A.D. RS7000 project and some think it’s great. Enjoy yours while I will thoroughly enjoy mine.

While I am not a Montage owner and have no personal interest in the Montage (ES and XF are fine for me), I want to congratulate you on your modifications to the keyboard knobs. It is possible that there are other Montage owners who may be dissatisfied with the stock knobs also and may find your post useful.

I find it admirable that you took the initiative to make those improvements to your satisfaction, rather than just complaining and doing nothing about it. Well done!
