NEED YOUR HELP::

Hi, today I created 5 scenes that contains a different drum arp/phrase in each scene.
I’M IN SONG MODE:
As I play back my song, I’m hitting the different scenes containing the different drum beats.
What is happening is that when I push a different scene button, instruments are being muted for some reason, and that’s not suppose to happen.

I’m trying to add drums to my music, recording the scene button pushes in real time as I either playback, or record,, the button pushes are muting instruments instead of just simply playing the drum beats I have assigned to them.

HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS ISSUE?
I thank you for your valued time and efforts in helping me.

JW

From http://www.motifator.com/index.php/support/view/tweak_of_the_week_scenes_and_track_mutes
“Additionally, a SCENE snapshot will remember the current Track Mute status.”

That might explain what’s happening. I suggest reading the entire article, there’s some good information that you may find helpful.

I knew about that article, and did read it about 7 times yesterday, and just now 2 times.
I still don’t understand though.

Here’s what I think is happening to my song.
I created the song first in pattern mode, then in chain mode, I created the chain, which in realtime, I did mute tracks, that’s the arrangement.
HOWEVER, I didn’t add any drums to the track.

I’m trying to add the drums while in song mode, using the drum arps that I assigned to the five scene buttons.
Thus in real time, I press the scene buttons as the music plays, (not even recording yet) just so I can get my timing down right.
Well, because I created the song in pattern mode with mutes, the stupid scenes buttons that I created in song mode, seems to think it’s suppose to have those mutes as well,, I did not put the mutes on the scenes.

There has to be a way of stopping this from happening, I’ve read that article over and over again, and going to do it yet again, but following the instructions, is still not causing my tracks to playback normal.

Sorry, I can’t tell from your description what might be going wrong.

I’m about to try the instructions, from the link you provided.
I’ll reply back here to let you know if it worked.
THE TROUBLE I’M HAVING:

When I press the scene buttons containing the arps I assigned to each button, because my song has mutes in it from the creation of the song in Pattern/Chain mode, the scene button presses are causing the mutes to happen on the WRONG parts/instruments.
This messes up the entire song progression lol.

I read from the top link you provided, to turn on voice with peram.
something like that, I’ll try it, and let you know if it stopped the issue I was having.

Thanks buddy.

SpinDIN:  I just tried it, following the instructions on both links you provided, and it didn’t work.
I am still getting mutes in the wrong spots when I press the scene buttons.
Without having anything on the track that I’m trying to add drums to, the song plays correctly, with mutes happening according to how I created them in the pattern chain before sending the pattern to song mode.

Maybe this will be a better explanation:
TRACK TOTAL: 5
Intro: three muted
Verse 1: only one track is suppose to mute, it does, until I press a fillin drumbeat on a different scene button, and return back to the main beat,, UPON that return, to beat plays correctly, but FOUR TRACKS become muted, when there is only suppose to be ONE.

I’ve been working over a week trying to find a solution to this problem.

Could you try this?…

Start by making a backup copy of your song, as protection, just in case anything goes wrong with the following.

Set the tempo and time signature of a blank song to what your song is. Use Song Job [F5]Track 01:Copy Track to copy each of the tracks of your song, one by one, to the blank song. Be sure to STORE as you progress. When done with that, play the song and verify that it’s OK. This song should have nothing registered to the Scenes yet.

I presume your drumbeats are stored in User Arps. (If not, tell me.) In Mixing Edit mode, assign your Arps to ARP1~ARP5. Verify that they work correctly. If so, register them to Scenes.

I hope that helps.

I went ahead a recorded to scenes with the programed drum arps assigned to each one, and yes it did mute tracks in parts of the song, HOWEVER, when I played back the entire song, it came out right.

That’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen from a Motif, and I’ve had the ES7, XS6, and now this White XF7,, just weird.
ANOTHER THING, I noticed, that even though I used the Standard Dry Kit, on my song, I used different drum arp phrases from different genres, ie...Hard Rock, Progressive Rock, and Rock,, mixing different phrases for fills and such.

When I used the arp for the verse, the one I used for the chours, make the kick a bit softer, so I have to ride the slider that the track is on.
No wonder Yamaha stopped the Motif line, and created Montage, the Motif’s sequencer can’t proper playback it’s own arps lol.
