I’m working with a band that’s covering Turn Me Loose (Loverboy), and the opening synth uses a chromatic portamento. Is the Motif Rack XS capable of chromatic portamento? I seem to remember the DX 7 did , but couldn’t figure it out/find it on the Rack XS.

Couldn’t find this in the Rack XS, but in looking at some soft synths I did find it.

As it turns out, the original patch was done on a Yamaha CS series synth, which supported chromatic portamento. Arturia has this in the CS80v, as does Halion Sonic 2 in one of their soft synths.

I also found a couple interesting “poor man’s” solutions on YouTube. Ingenuity is out there.
