Hi,

I connected my MX49 to Mainstage (MAC) and USB connection is good (audio/midi).

But I would like a way to quickly “mute” (don´t send midi note) to Mainstage and just use the sounds on MX.

I know about the Quick Setup Function (Utility - Job) it has 3 modes (Stand Alone - DAW Rec - Arp). Both 3 modes ALWAYS send midi note to Mainstage (while DAW Rec disable sound on MX - Local OFF). I think Stand Alone mode should only play the MX sound and not Mainstage.

What i´m I doing wrong? Is there any other quick way to switch between play sound only from MX and only from Mainstage? Can I edit quick modes of MX?

I´m a little familiaraty with Quick Modes since I use it on the MOX61.

Many thanks. Best Regards
Bruno Filipe

Welcome to the forums!

No, Stand Alone means the MX is not going to be connected to a computer so LOCAL CONTROL is ON and MIDI OUT quite naturally is ON. MIDI OUT being ON is the normal stand alone condition - think about it. Its been that way since the beginning of MIDI on every MIDI keyboard you have ever owned. So not sure why you think it should only play the MX sound. Curious. That maybe what you want now, but it certainly is not the way it should default…

Not sure exactly what your requirement/application is, but if you want to stop the MX from sending data via the USB OUT, simply change the MIDI IN/OUT = MIDI

Press [UTILITY]
Select “MIDI”
Press [ENTER]
scroll to the MIDI IN/OUT parameter set to MIDI, this will defeat the MX sending data via USB.

Hi Bad_Mister,

Thanks for your answer :)

First of all I thought the stand alone mode plays only the sound generated by MX. Thanks for the explanation.

But can i edit those modes in MX (or PC/Mac editor) since it doesnt change to Midi stays in USB?

My main question is that I want to seamless and quick change from sound generated by MX and MAC.

Since in the MOX I choose stand alone and only plays sounds from it self… (probably it changes do Midi instead of USB). My tyros 4 do the same…

Thanks.
