Got all the settings that need to be made on my MO8 to record arps to Sonar X1, but need specific setting instructions that need to be made “in Sonar X1”!

Thanks

Sorry, I don’t know Sonar specifically, but what you want to accomplish will be the same for any DAW.

When you say you have all the settings in your MO we will assume this includes LOCAL CONTROL = ON, because it is necessary when recording ARPs that your key presses go directly to the Arpeggiator instead of to the DAW as would be typical during normal record. Remember it is the OUTPUT of the arp that you want to record, not what you are playing to trigger the arp.

Because LOCAL CONTROL is ON, you must, when recording arps, prevent your DAW from “echoing” notes back to the MO tone generator (where incoming notes would also trigger the Arpeggiator ...and chaos would quickly ensue) ... So you must set the track tasked with recording the arp so that the notes “dead-end” in that track during record.

Once the data is recorded you can set the track to transmit out - remembering to TURN the ARP = OFF in the MO before you playback!!!

Make sense?

The other thing is to synchronize the clocks so that your data is in time. Set your DAW to send MIDI clock on MO Port 1.
Set the MO to MIDI SYNC = MIDI
