Hello - I’m wondering - is the keybed/action on the MX series the same as on the MOX6? If not, could someone discuss the differences? Also, I’ve not been able to play an MX keyboard, so I’d appreciate comments from those who have played one regarding the action - do you like/dislike, find it playable/controllable, etc. Are there adjustable velocity curves to accommodate different players’ touch/technique? Also - I’ve seen it asked here, but not definitively answered - could someone discuss the sound quality of the MX series vs. the MOX series? Are they the same, or is there a difference (for a technical reason)? Thanks very much - just joined the forum, and am strongly considering a purchase soon! |

It’s funny how differently we see these things. I had an MX49 for a few weeks before returning it for a MOX5. I had not problems with the feel or sound of the MX though. I just wanted more features and particularly more editing capabilities. I thought the MX keybed actually felt a touch stiffer than the MOX. Of course, there may well be some variation in these and this may account for the difference of opinion. I thought the MX sounded great. The MOX sounds great too. The fact that the MX has half the waveform memory has to account for something though doesn’t it? I can’t speak intelligently about this, but it just seems that bigger samples should equal better samples. I never actually had the two boards at the same time though so I can’t say I compared them side by side. Bottom line is - I think they both sound great. Greg |
