Hello Everyone,

I Bought my Yamaha MM8 few years back and it comes with a Cubase AI4, But only recently i have this interest to do some proper recording using this free software. I am quite new to digital recording and i am a Newbie when in comes to this matter. heres my situation:

Setup:
HP DM3 With ATi Radeon Chip and runs in windows 7 32bit
Yamaha MM8
Cubase AI4

So i though i do some recording, i follow all the instruction in the manual and i downloaded the latest MIDI driver for 32bit

my computer recognizes my MM8 can see the equalizer bar jumping..
and i can actually do some recording and save as cubase file..

the problem rises when i try to export out my audio mixed down or say a MIDI out. nothing comes out audible.

i hope one of you will have the patience to guide me through this.
would highly appreciate it.

and one more thing, when i try to set a VST instrument, i can’t find any MM8 value in it. Thanks.

Highly Thankful.
Karlo

Are you recording the audio outputs of the MM8? I didn’t see any mention of an audio connection between the MM8 and the computer. The USB connection only carries MIDI data, not audio.

The MM8 will not show up as a VST instrument because it isn’t one. You need one MIDI track (if you are using Cubase to sequence the MM8) and one audio track for the audio from the MM8.

If you have more questions, let us know.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

I do have my MM8 connected to my laptop via a USB, i saw your recommendation to add a audio track..unfortunately i have the same result.

i can record my playing on my MM8 to cubase, its the part when i try to export it that is still a mystery to me..

i want to paste a screenshot of what i have but i think they don’t allow it in this forum.

Do i need a separate connection besides a USB to my Laptop? like a MIDI to USB connection?

Thank you.
Regards,
Karlo

Thanks.
