I’ve been playing my Motif XF7 out live a few times and I’m looking for an easy way to perform the following:

1. Our band has 50 songs to play, most of them with keyboard.
2. I would like to have a “shortcut” so that when we go from the first song to the second song, all I would have to do is press a shortcut button that would change the keyboard voice so I don’t have to search for it in the catalogue (takes time in a live setting).
3. There is one song in particular ("Maneater" by Hall and Oats) where I would like to “split” the keyboard so that the electric piano sound would be below middle C and the Tenor Saxaphone (for the solo) would be above middle C. I know spliting can be done with the XF but could the “Shortcut” means I’m talking about accomplish this?

So, in a nutshell:

A. Show do you set up one-button shortcuts on the XF and assign them to a specific voice?
B. How many shortcuts do you get to use? Obviously a lot of the songs use the same voices so I wouldn’t need 50 of them, 25 would be nice.
C. How do shortcuts work when setting up a split voice condition (see #3 above).

Many thanks.

All of this can be done in “Master Mode”.  Check it out in your manual or the tutorials on this site.
