Hi,

I’m new to working with the XS but I would like to take a stab at modifying an existing drum kit with wav samples I’ve saved on my formatted usb flash drive.

In short, I’d like to make a “prince” drum kit.  I have all the wav sounds for the Linn LM1 saved on a formatted usb drive.  I would like to start with an existing kit, swap in many of the LM1 wav files from my usb drive and save the revised kit as my new “prince” kit.

I thought changing some of the sounds in an existing kit - and saving it for later use - would be easy but I obviously need a tutorial or some detailed guidance.  Can anyone help?

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks.

Mike

You will need to expand your XS with DIMMs. You can load samples that are 16-bit, with sample rates up to 44.1kHz… in .wav or .aif format

Call up the Drum kit you want to work with in VOICE mode
Press [FILE]
Set the TYPE = WAV
Use the LEFT CURSOR [<] to move up to the Directory and then use the DATA WHEEL or INC button to highlight the .WAV file you want to load
Use the RIGHT CUROSR [>] to move down to the target area
Set the KEY you wish to load this particular wave
Press [SF2] LOAD
